Parghat, Mikey shine for Fitzpatricks Club

Parghat Singh…fought well against a talented lad

MIXED fortunes for Leamington’s busy Fitzpatricks gym at Bedworth Ex-Servicemen’s Club on Friday.

After two straight wins for his new outfit, Parghat Singh lost out to Stoke Staffs’ talented Theo Doughty.

The impressive Doughty has now won 12 of 14, but was made to work for his points decision over 14-year-old feather Parghat who fought well.

Gym boss Derek Fitzpatrick said: “Coach Gage Singh was happy with his boxer’s display to the point of arranging a rematch on the Stoke Staffs home show in three weeks. The bout was competitive and fought in good spirit.”

Welter Mikey McTigue, 19, continued his fine run of form with unanimous victory over Coventry University’s Eric Sanigar. It was a dominant display against a tough opponent. Mikey caught Eric with nice, clean shots , but the university man.
