Owens unveils super show for Planet Ice

Tommy Owens…giving fans a marathon 12 fight bill

PROMOTER Tommy Owens bid to stage two major shows in a week has been shelved by pull-outs.

He had planned to present bills at Coventry Sports Connexion on June 3 and Planet Ice, Solihull, on June 10.

The two have now been merged to create a mega, 12 bout bill at Planet Ice on the 10th.

And it really does look some show, packed with talent. Fans will see Coventry’s top middleweight River Wilson-Bent, Birmingham’s former outstanding amateur Niall Farrell in his second pro outing, KO artist Ashlee Eales, the Coley brothers, Wolverhampton heavy Hosea Stewart, skilled Musa Moyo, Sam Pikire, Gloucestershire’s unbeaten Shabir Haidary…

It looks like being a late – and very noisy – night.

Matchmaker Jon Pegg said: “There were just too many pull-outs on both shows. You could get away with it on a small, five fight show, but not on a big one.

“So we’ve shuffled things around and come up with a really big, 12 fight night.”

And it looks like the punters are going to be the winners.
