Dynamite display by Goldsmith in Dubai

Bradley Goldsmith….now looking to break through in 2025

RED hot prospect Bradley Goldsmith certainly made an impression in his Dubai debut – even if it was a brief appearance.

At the lavish Agenda Arena, Goldsmith destroyed Vikas Kumar in two rounds.

The Indian boxer’s record – two losses in nine bouts and three KO wins – suggested he could give the Coventry middleweight a stern test.

He was simply blitzed. After feeling out his opponent, Bradley sent him to sleep with a devastating three punch combination.

That was unbeaten Goldsmith’s first overseas assignment as a pro and, not surprisingly, they want him back.

But first there’s work to be done on the home front. The 26-year, trained in Sheffield by Dominic Ingle, is now unbeaten in 12, eight by stoppage.

Big domestic nights and big fights cannot be far away.

“It was an unbelievable experience,” he said of the November 9 scheduled six rounder. “It was the best week of my life in terms of boxing – training over there, everything. Nice food, perfect weather, the venue was incredible. The production was probably the best I’ve ever had.

“It’s a bit surreal. From fighting on Sunday afternoons on Triumph (amateur boxing club) shows to seeing my face plastered on posters in Dubai.”

Goldsmith has a big following and sold an impressive 60 tickets for the fight. Sixteen fans flew to Dubai, the rest of the tickets were snapped-up by people the Sky Blues hope knows over there.

“I’ve been told I’m welcome back,” Goldsmith said, “but I want to fight in the UK next. The interest it generated has been incredible, it’s created real attention.

“I’ll probably fight over there again at some point next year. I’ll be staying in the gym because next year is the year I want to break through. I’m more than ready for the step-up, I’m just waiting for the opportunity to arise.”

Of the bout with Kumar, Goldsmith added: “He was game, he came out for the first round more than game and I used the round to work him out.

“He came out looking for a fight in the second and I caught him with three clean, heavy shots. As they say, that’s all she wrote.”
